One of the main concerns in the natural gas industry is the regasification process of the LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas). The common techniques adapted by the industry have been a challenge to both power generation and receiving terminals of the LNG.
LNG is natural gas, primarily composed of methane, which has been converted to liquid form. Natural gas has been cooled to a temperature of -161 oC where it turns to liquid. LNG must be turned back into gasaus form for commercial use and this is done at regasification plants. Liquefaction reduces the volume of the natural gas (NG) by 600 times smaller which makes it more practical to be shipped and transported through specially designed vessels. The shipped LNG is received via either onshore or offshore receiving terminals.
This report describes the process used to produce and ultimately deliver LNG to consumers. This process is known as the LNG process chain.
