Earthquake happens rarely bur can cause catastrophic life lost and damage to infrastructure. Engineers engaged with structure and equipment design try to consider earthquake in their design practice and increase reasonably the strength of the structures to prevent damage caused by earthquake. Power plants are one the most important infrastructures and shall be designed by the best engineering practice to ensure there will be no problem during earthquake. In this report steam duct, which is one of great and important structures in common power plants, is analyzed by using response spectrum method. This method is latest method introduced in international codes such as ASCE or IBC.
